NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tennessee State University says electricity has been restored to most of the campus after “sporadic” power outages.

In a statement, TSU says they’ve been experiencing outages but academic buildings are at full power. As a result, the university has canceled all afternoon classes Wednesday.

Contractors are working to restore power in two dorms. One has partial electricity, while the other is running on a generator. TSU says a temporary cooling system is being setup and food arrangements are being made.

“The University is working around the clock to remedy the problems, which we take very seriously,” TSU said in part.

Campus police and school officials are monitoring the outages.
