Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt University hosted a free community health and wellness fair to help boost the state’s health.
Tennessee has been listed as one of the worst states for health, according to America's Health Rankings.
Friday’s wellness fair included various weight loss assessments, fitness demonstrations, and education on nutrition.
"This is really an opportunity for TSU to serve out its mission statement in helping to serve the community," said Kelli Sharpe, Assist Vice President for Public Relations and Communications at TSU.
Dental and Health screenings were also offered on-sight. The event lasted from 10 a.m. from 2 p.m. at Tennessee State University.
The DP Thomas community also helped out at the event, promoting balanced lifestyles.
