NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two people were injured in a shooting at the Garfield Market on the 900 block of Jenkins Street in Buena Vista.

Metro Nashville Police officials say they received two shooting calls from that location within just three minutes.

"I was in my bedroom and I heard like several gunshots; and like a half of split second after that I turned around and heard several more gunshots and they were more powerful than the first gunshots," said Theresa Smith, who lives nearby.

Police officials said 18-year-old Dontario Graham got out of a vehicle that had pulled up to the market shot both victims then got back in the car before it sped away.

Police said one victim, a 22-year-old, was shot in the left hip and ran inside the store for help. His injury was not life-threatening. The second victim, an a18-year-old suffered a serious injury in the torso, but is also expected to be OK. This victim ran up the street and called police.

Graham later admitted to police to shooting the victims, claiming that the 18-year-old had robbed one of his friends.

Officers set up two crime scenes because one victim ran inside the market after being hit and the other ran up the road.

Smith says when she looked outside her window from her Cheatham Place home, all she could see was law enforcement racing to the scene.

"I saw all these lights shining, so I lifted up my shades and that’s when I saw all the police cars and the ambulance, and the fire department, and everything out here. So, I knew something had happened out here, but I didn’t know what was going on. "

Graham was charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, felony gun possession and marijuana possession. He's being held without bond.
