MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Crews have cleared the scene of a gas line puncture in Murfreesboro Friday morning. No businesses have been evacuated.

According to officials with the Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department, units responded to the scene at 811 Park Avenue at 10 a.m.

Atmos Energy was on site working when emergency officials said they accidentally hit the four inch steel line. Crews have located the shut off valve.

“We cannot just clamp the line as we normally would,” said Captain Blake Insell. “As soon as we find the shut off, we’ll work on getting the street back open.”

Park Avenue is back open to all traffic near Salem Road.

No businesses have been evacuated. Officials have not released any additional information.
