Missing 9-year-old Carlie Trent was found safe in Hawkins County, and her uncle Garry Simpson has been taken into custody.

U.S. Marshals and Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said she was found Thursday afternoon. TBI sent agents to East Tennessee to confirm a report that came out around 3:45 p.m.

Officials said Carlie was found 50 miles North of Rogersville along Gravely Valley Road.

Earlier Thursday, Gary Simpson, the man who allegedly kidnapped Carlie, was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 Most Wanted list earlier Thursday.

TBI officials said Simpson removed her from school on May 4 under false pretenses. He previously had custody of Carlie, but her father was recently granted custody.
