OMAHA, Neb.-- The Vanderbilt Commodores defeated Texas Christian University 1-0 in the College World Series Tuesday night.
The defending national champion Commodores earned two days off. They will play the winner of the TCU-LSU game on Friday night. That game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
TCU's pitcher Alex Young struck out a career-high 12 batters in the six innings. It was Vandy's Zander Wiel who scored the only run of the night with his 15th home run of the season.
If Vanderbilt wins Friday they will once again play in the national championship series.
