NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Vanderbilt University honored the transgender community with its virtual Transgender Day of Remembrance event.
The university’s Office of LGBTQI Life partnered with transgender activists in Nashville to present the pre-recorded event Friday.
They remembered the 350 lives lost this year across the world and read the names of the victims who have been killed this year because of anti-transgender violence.
Nashville held its first Transgender Day of Remembrance in 2002. Watch the full event here.
