Three people have been arrested after a shooting that critically injured a 23-year-old man. The incident allegedly stemmed from the use of the OfferUp app.

Police said 19-year-old John Holden Jr., 18-year-old Joshua Holden, and 18-year-old Brian Love were all charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. Holden Jr. was also charged with drug possession.

On Tuesday afternoon, 23-year-old Matthew Wray was critically injured in a shooting during an apparent robbery in the 1100 block of Leland Avenue.

Reports stated Wray had arranged with a friend to sell electronics on OfferUp. It had originally been reported to be linked to Craigslist, but police confirmed they used the app OfferUp.

They were told to go to a house that was vacant. Joshua Holden was there and appeared to be interested in buying the items.

Holden said he had to call his brother, but seconds later, a gunman showed up and said, “You know what it is”.

Joshua Holden allegedly grabbed electronic gaming consoles out of Wray’s car, and Wray was shot as he and his friend were driving away.

Wray was able to drive to the Citgo in the 500 block of Main Street, and his friend called for help.

Joshua Holden was positively identified as a suspect. He also admitted to his involvement.

Authorities said they recovered the stolen items from the Holden brothers’ home on Litton Avenue.

Joshua Holden and Love were being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond each. Holden Jr. was being held in lieu of a $101,000 bond.

According to reports, Wray remained at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.
