"Violent Felon" Captured In Alabama

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Officers arrested a wanted "violent felon," who was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Top 10 Most Wanted list. 

Joseph Perkins was arrested Monday in Alabama.

He was added to the TBI's list Friday after escaping from custody and allegedly assaulting a trooper in the process.

'Violent Felon' Added To TBI's Most Wanted List

Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Police Capt. Brad Mason says Perkins was taken into custody because he had a car that had been stolen from Tuscaloosa.

Authorities say Perkins assaulted a state trooper early Friday at a jail in Williamson County, Tennessee, and then fled. He was named to the Tennessee Highway Patrol's Top 10 Most Wanted list.

It was not immediately clear whether Perkins is represented by an attorney.
