NASHVILLE, Tenn. - More than 50,000 people cast their vote early in this General Election, and Thursday, thousands more were set to head to the polls.

More than 300,000 registered voters still hadn't turned out to cast their vote in the election.

Eleven voting sites have scheduled to be open across Davidson County Thursday.

Polling locations planned to open at 7 a.m., and voters will be given until 7 p.m. to cast their ballots.

Officials stressed the importance of voting this year as all 41 Metro council seats were up for grabs, including the office of Vice Mayor.

"This is really a landmark election for Nashville and will set the path for Nashville's future," said Nancy DeKalb, Election Commission Spokesperson.
