NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Every artist in Nashville has a unique story, including Walker Hayes, who’s releasing his new album “Boom.”
Hayes wrote and recorded most of his songs in a shack behind a home on Music Row.
No windows, just some places to sit, instruments, and a computer to record on.
"This is my favorite place, but this is where every song on the album was written and where it was recorded first,” Hayes said.
Two years in the making, this album was not easy to make. After two record deals, the second of which he was dropped from, Hayes never knew if his music career would pan out.
"At our darkest moment, we had six kids, I was writing songs, we had one car, and I was working at Costco,” Hayes said.
Hayes said thanks to support from other songwriters and his friends and family, his album came together. He released a successful single, and he can't wait for people to hear his new album set to be released on Friday.
