Water erupted from the ground at the intersection of 11th Avenue North and Charlotte Avenue in downtown Nashville.
Metro Water Services crews responded to the break that happened Monday afternoon.
Crews worked on the 1100 block of Charlotte to make repairs to a 12-inch water line.
Due to repairs, the west bound lane of Charlotte Ave. between 11th and 12th Ave. was closed and the north bound lane of 11th Ave. N. was also closed.
It was unclear how long repairs would take.
