NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — It was an extra special welcome home for a family in Nashville Thursday night. West Point cadet, McKlain Kirkpatrick, got a surprise welcome from his military father.
According to family, McKlain was surprised on his return home from West Point late Thursday night. As he left the secure area of the airport, he was greeted by his father, Colonel Scott Kirkpatrick.
Colonel Kirkpatrick wasn't expected to return home from his assignment in Afghanistan until March, but was able to make it home early for Christmas.
