Williamson Co. School Board Member Resigns After Social Media Frenzy

Posted

Williamson county School Board member Susan Curlee resigned after controversy from a social media post.

Curlee was under fire from her online usage of the word "retarded." She was also involved in a lawsuit threat against the county for improperly reacting to a middle school fight.

The board member was still apart of an ongoing complaint against parent group, Williamson Strong.

She announced the resignation on her personal Facebook page, saying:

"I sincerely thank the community and my family for their support. While it has been an honor to serve our community, I will be resigning from the Williamson County School Board effective August 1 for family & personal reasons. It has been an honor to serve the good people of Williamson County."

Before resignation, Susan Curlee was elected the District 12 position in 2014.
