Officials with the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency said the incident happened Monday morning around 10:45. "Our office investigated in collaboration with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and presented our findings to the DA’s office," said a Wilson Co. EMA official.

The 18-month-old was taken to Tennova Healthcare, but did not survive.

Details of how the drowning happened were not released.

Officials with the Wilson County Sheriff's office did not release the deputy's name but said it was an, "Unavoidable accident involving a deputy's child," and that more information would be made available Tuesday.

In a release Mt. Juliet Police's Lt. Tyler Chandler named the family as the Long family. He posted, "Our department is close, and this event affects us all. However, our grief and confusion are small compared to what the Long family must be feeling. Our hearts and prayers go out to them."

A memorial donation fund was established at Wilson Bank & Trust, and all locations are able to accept donations under the name Caleb Long Benefit Fund.
