Fried twinkies and thrill rides -- does it get better? It’s once again time for the biggest fair in Tennessee!
The Wilson County Fair opens at 5 p.m. Friday with a flag raising ceremony and a tractor parade.
About half a million people are expected to attend the fair over the next nine days. Admission is $12, but Friday night, there is a $2 discount to celebrate the opening.
Officials with the Lebanon Police Department want to make sure you're safe at the fair this year. There will be officers both in uniform and in plain clothes, and they also want to remind visitors to lock their cars when they park.
Also, if anyone sees anything suspicious, don't hesitate to tell an officer. That can be done at the hospitality and information booths at the fairgrounds.
This year's theme is Magic Memories. The fair runs through the August 25 -- rain or shine! To learn more, visit the fair online.
