The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Keinesa Lillard.

Reports stated Counter had just parked when a grey four-door Dodge Avenger pulled up, and a woman got out and demanded his belongings at gunpoint.

An altercation ensued, and Counter was shot in the chest.

The Avenger was spotted by undercover officers Wednesday evening, and a Metro Nashville Police Department helicopter followed the car.

It stopped on Felicia Street where officers took Lillard into custody.

Authorities said a nine millimeter pistol was recovered from her purse. She was charged with evading arrest, drug possession, and unlawful gun possession.

After further investigation, Lillard was charged on Friday with especially aggravated robbery.

Detectives said work on the case was ongoing.
