NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police have identified a 24-year-old woman who was fatally wounded in a stabbing at a condominium complex in Madison.
Officers were originally called to a report of a fight at Neely's Bend Condominiums on Neely's Bend Road just after midnight Tuesday.
Officers found Ashley Yarbrough injured at the bottom of the stairwell to building C. She was taken to Skyline Medical Center, where she died shortly after midnight.
Police said the 911 call was made at 11:50 p.m. by an acquaintance of Yarbrough. She had an altercation with that person Monday night but they have denied stabbing her.
Neither Yarbrough nor the acquaintance lived at the condos. Yarbrough is last known to have lived in Spring Hill.
The investigation remains ongoing.
At this point, detectives do not believe she was stabbed by a stranger but it’s unclear if she was visiting anyone at the condos.
Anyone with information was asked to contact Madison Precinct Investigations at 615-880-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
