Woman Killed In Belle Meade Crash Identified

A woman has died after an early morning crash southwest of Nashville.

The incident happened shortly after 4 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Vossland Drive and Harding Pike in Belle Meade.

Officials with Metro police said 64-year-old Brenda Cecil was driving east in her Nissan Rogue along Harding Pike when she veered into the opposite lane of traffic and continued off the roadway into the ditch. 

According to officers, the victim may have fallen asleep behind the wheel or had a medical emergency.

The woman was not wearing a seatbelt. There was no indication of alcohol involvement at the scene.
