A 22-year-old Turkish man used Facebook's live video system to broadcast his death on Monday afternoon, in response to finding out his girlfriend had cheated on him.

According to a translation of the video, Erdogan Ceren said, “No one believed when I said I will kill myself – so watch this," before pulling the trigger to cause the fatal wound.

The video of Ceren's death has been shared more than 4,000 times, and has nearly 700,000 page views. As of Tuesday evening, the video had not been taken down from Facebook's site.

Before posting his suicide video, Ceren posted a poem about his girlfriend, and photos with him and his nephew and sister.
