WWII Ship Stops In Nashville

The the last operational LST built during WW II, the USS LST 325, has stopped in Nashville.

It's scheduled to be in town Aug. 31 -  Sept. 4..

The ship will be moored at Cumberland Park on the east bank of the Cumberland River. Paid parking will be available at Nissan Stadium Lot R.

A public opening ceremony was set for Thursday, Aug. 31 at 11:00 a.m., tours
will commence at afterward at 12:00 p.m.

5 and Under, WW II Veterans and Active Duty w/ID are Free

The tour includes the Tank Deck, Mess Deck, Galley, Stern of ship (Guns and Anchor), Wheel House, Officer's Country and the Captain's Cabin, Troop Berthing, and the Tank Deck. It includes 3 sets of stairs up and 3 sets of stairs down. You are allowed to take pictures at any point during the tour. We recommend walking shoes, heels of any type are not advised. The crew ranges in age from 19  90+. The oldest being WWII veterans. Crew members will be available throughout the ship to answer your questions.

Oct. 27th will mark the 75th Anniversary of the Commissioning of the USS LST 325. She participated in the landings of Sicily and Salerno, and the Normandy D-Day invasion during WWII. In 1964, LST 325 was transferred to the Greek navy where she served until 1999 when the LST Association made arrangements to acquire the ship and return her to the United States. She is currently docked in Evansville, IN and each year cruises to cities along the inland rivers of the United States.
