NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — After the Primary Election, Chaz Molder and team jumped in the car and visited all 17 counties in District 5 to meet more voters and talk about issues that matter. Molder says, "farmers, small business owners, single mothers- are ready for someone that they feel is going to fight for them." Molder tells us what are their top priorities, how his opponent supports the same policies that have gotten us into this mess today, and why he is a better fit to solve these problems by representing Tennessee in Congress .
Molder says most Tennesseans are looking for help, "I spoke with a small business owner just last week that was talking about the fact that all of his costs are rising from his shipping costs to what he's having to pay for supplies, and that's a direct result of the tariffs...And so I think really and truly Congress should be a check and balance to those tariff policies that are hurting our small business owners, and that's what we're hearing daily." Molder also says he agrees with President Trump on some issues but, "I'm not going to be an enemy or an employee of the president. I'm going to be fighting for the people who call the 5th Congressional District home and I think the corruption side in Washington is more so that people go to Washington and they stay there for too long...I don't believe that members of Congress should be able to trade stocks and these are the type of issues that when people hear about and read about what their politicians are doing, they lose trust in the system and I want to try to restore some trust back in this system being the mayor."
