WTVF-NASHVILLE — Rolling back safeguards for LGBT civil rights?
The Trump Administration is working with the Department of Labor to remove nondiscrimination protections for LGBT workers by adding a "religious exemption" to the policy. Previously, protections were added by President Obama to protect hiring on the basis of "sexual orientation and gender identity". But this new proposal would allow a contractor's religious views to ignore that policy.
