WTVF-NASHVILLE — Should Tennessee legalize recreational marijuana?
In years past, legislators have attempted to legalize the use of medical marijuana, in hopes that it could help curb opioid addiction. None of those efforts have been successful. Recreational is a different story.
There are currently 11 other states in the US that have legalized recreational use of marijuana, and one Tennessee Senator would like our state to become the next.
By legalizing this, State Senator Raumesh Akbari feels this could reduce penalities for low level possessions, and provide the state with new revenue from taxing sales of the product.
