WTVF-NASHVILLE — Earlier this year Tennessee Lawmakers put forth a bill that would ban abortions once a heartbeat was detected. It was known as the "Heartbeat Bill". It passed in the House, but was sent to summer study after it stalled in the Senate.
Today they are discussing an amendment that calls for a Total Abortion Ban the moment a mother discovers they are pregnant. The idea is to take this battle to nation's Supreme Court in hopes that it can chip away at the Roe v. Wade ruling.
Senator Katrina Robinson, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee joins Ben Hall on OpenLine for this discussion.
