NewsChannel 5 Meteorologist Lelan Statom was on-hand to throw out the first pitch at the Nashville Sounds game.
The team’s second season at First Tennessee Park got underway the second week of April.

Lelan took the mound – well, pretty close to the mound – before the team played its first Wednesday afternoon game against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
“The good thing is I got it to the catcher, he told me he’d have my back. It did not go in the ground and that’s the big thing right there. It did not go in the ground,” he joked afterwards.
Reporter Nick Beres was one of many familiar faces from NewsChannel 5 at the game. Anchor Steve Hayslip was there to show his support, along with Talk of the Towns’ Meryll Rose and Tuwanda Coleman.
