FRANKLIN, Ky. (AP) -- Fifteen-year-old junior Maddie Alexander has been playing four sports for Franklin-Simpson High School: soccer, cross country, basketball and track.
Now, she has added a fifth. This summer, she made the Wildcats' football team as a kicker.
Alexander was advised last year during Homecoming activities by former Wildcats' football coach and current principal Tim Schlosser to try out for the position. He was impressed by the way she kicked the football in the Homecoming competition as a sophomore.
Practice has already started for the upcoming season, and Wildcats' head football coach Doug Preston, as well as Alexander's teammates, have been impressed with her workouts.
