NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Mayor John Cooper has signed a proclamation declaring Wednesday, Sept. 23, as Roman Josi Day in Nashville.

Cooper tweeted a photo of him signing the proclamation and congratulated Josi on receiving the Norris Trophy on Monday night.

The trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's top "defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position".

The 30-year-old is the first player in Predators franchise history to win the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s best defenseman. Josi signed an eight-year, $72 million contract extension last October.
