The trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's top "defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position".
The 30-year-old is the first player in Predators franchise history to win the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s best defenseman. Josi signed an eight-year, $72 million contract extension last October.
