The Nashville Predators are expected to name the team’s new captain for the 2017-2018 season ahead of a preseason double-header.
The double header starts Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. with a second game at 7 p.m. against the Florida Panthers.

The big news off season was the retirement of Captain Mike Fisher. The new captain is expected to be named at 12:30 p.m.
The Preds have been tight-lipped about who it might be with so many good options on the table.
A couple other off-season notes - Nashville will be without defenseman Ryan Ellis and new forward Nick Bonino as they recover from procedures.
Ellis had knee surgery and could be out for the first half of the season. Bonino hopes to be playing in a couple weeks.
