NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A San Francisco 49er training for the upcoming NFL season has tested positive for COVID-19, according to NFL Network Insiders Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.
The news comes just as NFL teams ended their official offseason training camps earlier this month. The camps were conducted virtually.
Garafolo tweeted Friday afternoon the rest of the group training with the player were trying to figure out if and when they could travel to get out of town, though Garafolo reported some of the players already live in Nashville.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero added to report tweeting the entire group that was training with the player was tested for COVID-19 Friday morning and are awaiting results.
All 49ers quarterbacks and many other skill position players were in the group, according to reports.
One of the #49ers players who was working out in Nashville tested positive for Covid, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The rest of the group is getting tested and trying to figure out how and when they can travel. Some guys live there so they’ll just hunker down.
