NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Vanderbilt University has announced that it will allow a limited number of students to attend its first home game of the season.

Vanderbilt is scheduled to play LSU on Saturday. Senior undergraduate students will be given first priority to attend the game and will be contacted via email with details about how to get their tickets.

The university says it’s working to prepare Vanderbilt Stadium for students to ensure physical distancing. Masks will be required and services such as concessions won’t be available.

“We believe that we can allow a limited number of students to attend as safely as possible and help foster school spirit and create meaningful connections among all our students,” said Vice Chancellor for Athletics and University Affairs and Athletic Director Candice Storey Lee.

Decisions about student attendance at future home football games will be determined after the first game. The university previously said it would not allow fans at home games through the end of October.
