How to Make Puchim

Sharon Ben Ami from the Jewish Federation made Puchim, a chocolate Israeli dessert. The Israel Independence Day celebration will be on Sunday, May 19 from 2pm-5pm in Centennial Park, 2500 West End Ave. The event will feature Israeli food, dancing, kids’ activities, live music and more. 8.5 oz. of tea biscuits (two packets)

3.2 oz. butter, soft or cold

3.2 oz. (1/2 cup) sugar

1.5 tablespoon brandy

3.5 tablespoons cocoa

2/3 cup milk and 3% fat

Ground coconut/ sprinkles for decoration


Crumble biscuits in a food processor. Dissolve butter in a large bowl in the microwave. Add sugar, brandy, cocoa and milk to the butter bowl and stir until uniform. Add the crushed / grounded biscuits to the mixture and mix until uniform. Make chocolate balls with your hands, place in a plate and dip in a plate with coconut. Refrigerate until serving.
