TERIYAKI SALMON

INGREDIENTS

2 6 oz salmon filets
1 c water
1/4 c soy sauce
5 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 c cold water
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp olive oil

MARINADE

Combine 1 cup water, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, ginger, and garlic. Mix well. Pour half of the sauce over salmon and set aside for at least 2 hours. Pour the remaining sauce in a sauce pan over medium heat and cook until heated approximately 1 minute. Mix corn starch and 1/4 cup cold water in a cup. Stir until cornstarch is dissolved. Add to the sauce pan. Cook and stir sauce until thickened approximately 5-7 minutes.

SALMON COOKING PROCEDURE

Add olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat until oil is heated. Remove salmon from the marinade and place salmon presentation side down into the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes. Flip salmon over and begin to baste the salmon with teriyaki sauce. Cook salmon for an additional 3-4 minutes while basting with sauce. Remove salmon from heat & serve.
