Darrell Hawks, the executive director of Friends of Mill Ridge Park, gave us a lesson in kiting and talked about Kite Fest at Mill Ridge Park. Kite Fest is from 10am-3pm on Saturdays during October. You can enjoy a fun, family-friendly outdoor experience. During the event, while supplies last, visitors will receive a free kite along with kite flying tutorials, picnic snacks with blankets, park gear, personal protective equipment, and ample outdoor space for picnicking and flying kites with family and friends; all while following current safety protocols.
