Tennessee Honey Blueberry Lemonade
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup blueberries
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
½ cup Jack Daniel Tennessee Honey Whiskey
Make blueberry simple syrup first by combining sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Stir in blueberries and simmer until berries have softened & broken down, about 4-5 minutes.
Strain blueberry mixture through a fine sieve. Discard solids. Chill syrup.
In a large pitcher, whisk together half of the blueberry simple syrup, lemon juice and 4 cups water. Place in refrigerator until cold.
Stir in Tennessee honey and serve in a tall ice filled glass garnished with whole blueberries and thin lemon slices.
Tip: adding all the syrup makes darker colored & more blueberry tasting lemonade. Do the version you prefer; both are delicious.
