Here are some of the upcoming fall/winter sales and their public sale dates:
*August 21-30: This is the 33rd year for the Encores and More South sale, which will take place with more than 400 consignors. The location is 2721 8th Ave. S. (Franklin Road) in the former Bliss Home Store spot.
300-400 consignors and 80,000 items.
The children’s clothing is all fall/winter, but there is also adult clothing from all seasons, and lots of furniture, home décor, holiday items, baby equipment, jewelry, books, tools, toys, and more.
Towards the end of the sale (August 28-29) most items are half off, and on the final day (from 3:15-4:30 on August 30) there is a Dollar Dash, where shoppers pay $5 admission and get to buy the items that are left for $1 apiece.

*August 21-22: Brentwood United Methodist’s KidSale takes place at the church at 309 Franklin Road, with about 100-300 consignors. This sale raises money ($20,000- $25,000) for the church’s missions which include Room in the Inn, Harvest Hands, and Thembelihle school in South Africa. Half price day is 8-11:30 a.m. on August 22.

*August 26-29: The Floods of Duds community consignment sale takes place at the Hendersonville United Methodist Church at 217 East Main St. in Hendersonville. This sale, which has about 200 consignors, has been running for more than 20 years. Proceeds benefit the children’s ministries at the church. Many items are 50 percent off on August 28-29.

*August 28-29: Otter Creek Church’s fall/winter consignment sale takes place in the church gym at the 409 Franklin Road, Brentwood campus. More than 300 consignors bring items to the sale and proceeds go to support youth ministries and child related charities around the world. Most items are half price from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 29th.

*August 28-30: The Reruns are Fun sale will take place at the Ag Expo Center at 4215 Long Lane in Franklin. The sale, which has been taking place twice a year since 1990, features all categories of children’s toys, clothing and equipment as well as adult clothing and home goods. There is a ticketed $5 presale and there is a half off night from 7-9 p.m. on August 29 and a Dollar Dash on August 30. “Heroes” (including military, veterans, health care workers, firefighters and law enforcement) get early shopping privileges.

Sept. 1-3: Hooked on Consignment Sale will take place at 162 Imperial Blvd. in Hendersonville. This sale, which is in its 15th year, has ticketed presales on August 30-31 and expects to have more than 80,000 items. It features sizes from infants through girls and boys size 16.

Sept. 18-19: Little Sprouts, with 650 consignors and 70,000 items takes place in Liberty Hall at the Factory at Franklin, 230 Franklin Road. There is a ticketed presale ($5-$35) on Sept. 16-17. The sale, which has been taking place since 2008 and provides some support to Franktown, a charity that works with Franklin’s underprivileged youth. The sale donates almost $40,000 a year to Franktown.
