DAISY KING / MISS DAISY'S KITCHEN
CHEESEBURGER PIE
1 lb ground beef ( I use very lean beef)
1/2 c evaporated milk
1/2 c catsup
1/3 c dry bread crumbs
1/4 c chopped fresh oregano
3/4 t salt
1/2 t black pepper
1 deep dish unbaked pie shell
6 oz grated Cheddar cheese
1 t Worcestershire sauce
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine ground beef, milk, catsup, bread crumbs, oregano, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Mix well with hands. Pat mixture into pie shell. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Toss cheese with Worcestershire sauce, remove pie from oven, sprinkle cheese mixture on top of pie and bake another 10 minutes. Remove from oven, cool 10 minutes and cut into wedges. Yield:
6 servings.
