INGREDIENTS:
Pound cake (Use your favorite pound cake recipe or buy one already prepared)
1 lb strawberries
3 ripe peaches
1 cup sugar equally divided
2 Tablespoons Grand Marnier liqueur equally divided
DIRECTIONS:
Cut cake into slices then cut the slices into cubes and set aside.
Cap and slice strawberries. Peel, pit and slice peaches. Place in separate bowls. Pour half the sugar and half the Grand Marnier on the strawberries; pour remaining halves on the peaches.
Set fruit aside for about 30 minutes to allow the sugar to pull juices from the fruit. (I personally like my juice thick, so I pour it into a sauce pan and thicken over medium heat. Once the sauce has reached your desired thickness, remove it from the heat and cool. Once syrup has cooled, add it back to the fruit).
Whipped cream
1 quart heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 Tablespoons sugar
Pour heavy cream in mixing bowl. Add vanilla AND sugar. Whip until the cream makes stiff peaks. Place whipped cream in the fridge until needed.
Begin layering with your desired amount of cake cubes in the bottom of serving dish. Next, cover the cubes with the fruit and syrup mixture. Add another layer of cake cubes followed by fruit and syrup. Then, top with your desired amount of whip cream.
