Turkey Chili
1-2 T cooking oil
1 large yellow onion, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
11/2 pounds ground turkey
1 pound spicy turkey sausage (skins removed)
1 15-ounce can black beans
1 15 -ounce can kidney beans
1 15-ounce can chili beans
1 15-ounce can cannelloni beans
1 15-ounce can pinto beans
1 30- ounce can diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 12- ounce can your favorite beer
1 package chili seasoning (spicy or mild)
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
salt and pepper to taste
Assemble ingredients and utensils. In a large skillet, saute' onion and garlic in cooking oil, then add and continue to saute'turkey and sausage. In a large pot or Dutch Oven, combine meat mixture and all other ingredients, including the liquid in each can. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer from 45 minutes to an hour.
Chef's Note: This is better made the day before you are serving. Reheat.
