Around 30 vehicles were involved in multiple crashes in the same place at the same time on Interstate 24.
The wrecks happened in the westbound lanes of the interstate around 1:50 p.m. Saturday near Exit 56 for Harding Place and State Route 255.

According to those on scene, only two patients were taken to the hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crashes was not released. Authorities confirmed the incident happened when heavy rain moved through, involving at least 30 vehicles.

Reports stated parts of the crash site stretched for at least half a mile.
The left lanes were blocked to westbound traffic. Eastbound drivers were not affected.
Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said the roadway was cleared and reopened just before 5 p.m.
