Interstate 40 was shut down for several hours after a crash involving four vehicles.
The wreck happened around 3:15 a.m. Sunday near the Fesslers Lane overpass.
Those with the Metro Nashville Police Department said a car slowed down in the fast lane and was rear-ended.
Two other vehicles were then involved in chain reaction collisions.
Three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No further details were available.
