Lane closures have been planned this weekend on Interstate 65 for blasting.
Starting at midnight Friday into Saturday, crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation have been set to close multiple northbound lanes on the interstate between the Briley Parkway Interchange and the Old Hickory Boulevard exit.
Officials said it's all part of a $1.5 million slope stabilization project providing a better clear zone for drivers and correcting ongoing maintenance concerns.
The work was scheduled to begin late Friday night and continue through 5 p.m. Saturday.
The complete lane closure schedule included:
- Saturday, March 19, 12:00 a.m. (midnight) - 12 p.m. (noon) I-65 northbound will be reduced to two lanes from just north of the Briley Parkway interchange (MM 91) to Old Hickory Blvd (MM 92).
- Saturday, March 19, 7:00 a.m. Traffic on I-65 in both directions from Old Hickory Blvd. to Briley Parkway will be temporarily stopped during blasting.
- Saturday, March 19, 12 p.m. (noon) - 5 p.m. I-65 northbound will continue to have 1-2 lanes closed until crews complete clearing material and equipment from the roadway.
