NASHVILLE, Tenn. - It was once again time to lace up the sneakers as Mayor Karl Dean prepared to lead another 100 miles of walking.
The first walk of the campaign was Sunday at the Stones River Greenway.
Dozens of people grabbed their strollers and water bottles and set out on the 3.5 mile track.
Mayor Dean has hosted this campaign several years, but it’s the first time they added in biking and canoeing.
"We wanted to emphasize all the different resources we have,” Mayor Dean said. “It's a great city to bike in. It's a great city to get out on the rivers. We wanted to emphasize all the different fitness activities there are. It makes it more fun I think to a do a variety of different events."
The 100 mile campaign was set to last only 19 days. Click here for more information.
