3 Indicted For Separate Federal Firearms Offenses

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Three men were indicted by a federal grand jury for crimes involving federal firearms offenses.

David Rivera, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, and Metro Police Chief Steve Anderson said the crimes were separate and occurred in the J.C. Napier and University Court public housing developments.

Authorities charged 20-year-old Michael Calloway with being a felon in possession of ammunition and alleged Calloway fired several shots at an individual near the intersection of Lewis Street and Robertson Street April 12. The victim was hit in the leg by one bullet.

Jacarlvis Marable, age 22, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, and according to documents, Marable allegedly stole a Glock handgun from Gun City USA February 14.

Officials said 28-year-old Deshon Burleson was charged with being a felon in possession of two firearms. Authorities said Burleson was in the housing projects and allegedly fled into one of the apartments to evade police who saw a handgun in the waistband of Burleson’s pants on October 21.

According to officials, all three defendants were taken into custody and faced up to ten years in prison if convicted.
