NASVHILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — There seems to be a dating app for every kind of person. Now, that includes pairing up single dog moms and dads.

Dig Dates originally launched in Denver, but in June setting up doggie dates became available in Music City. The app founders wanted a special way to connect dog lovers to make sure they can find people who fit into each other's lifestyles.

The app concept is similar to other dating apps. The user creates a profile, but with Dig Dates, it includes the user's furry friend. What's unique is the app also includes suggestions for dog-friendly locations to meet up with the pups tow.

Even if sparks don't fly, the app developers hope it's a way to create friendships with like-minded people.

"You're hitting two dogs with one bone," Becky Michletz with Dig Dates said. "You might make a friend from it. You might date somebody from it, but then you are also getting to meet another dog potentially that your dog is friends with or in love with."

The app is free to download on smartphones. It also sends out tips and local deals tailored for pet owners.
