MNPS Enrollment Fair Helps Busy Parents Get Prepared

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With summer almost over, a lot of parents have been busy preparing for the next school year.

Metro Schools and the Metro Public Health Department tried to make that process a little easier Saturday with their 2015 Enrollment Fair at the Lentz Public Health Center.

The event helped out with some of the simplest things, like enrolling a child, to some more complex issues, like immunizations and getting fingerprinted.

The event made the process more convenient for parents with busier schedules who can't wait in long lines.

“We were hearing about this from like friends and everything, and they were telling us to come down here to do this, so we’re like, ‘Okay,’” said Danyel McKinnie, a parent. “Well I am always working, so I never have any other time. So it’s perfect that it was on a Saturday, so we’re like, ‘Let’s run down here and do this.’”

For anyone who missed Saturday's Enrollment Fair, enrollment centers were still scheduled to be open at any of the Metro High Schools this week.
