MADISONVILLE, Tenn. – More than 100 graduating seniors in East Tennessee will not walk across the graduation stage after school officials said they took a senior prank too far.
Officials said students at Sequoyah High School in Monroe County destroyed parts of the school last Wednesday.
Photos of the damage showed garbage cans dumped all over the hallways. There was ketchup, baby oil and even urine on the walls. One photo showed a dead possum among the garbage.
Several students reported things had been stolen from their lockers.
The school's student resource officer has been fired for failing to notify authorities as the vandalism occurred.
School officials were reviewing surveillance tape and said criminal charges could be filed.
