NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A student was taken into custody for carrying a .25 caliber handgun on campus.
Police said the incident happened Monday at Pearl Cohn High School. Officers received a tip 18-year-old Isiah Cannon, a senior at the school, had the gun on campus.
Authorities said the gun was not loaded. Cannon was removed from class by School Resource Officers and the gun was taken from his backpack.
According to reports, Cannon said he usually keeps the gun at home and forgot to take it out of his backpack.
He was charged with carrying a weapon on school property and was being held in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
