ANAHEIM, Cali. (WTVF) — They call it the ultimate Disney fan event.
The 2019 D23 Expo was held in Anaheim, California August 23-25.
Disney's official fan club, D23 ("D" for Disney, 23 for the year Walt started his studio), has hosted the convention bi-annually since 2009.
"The celebration of all things Disney from our parks and our products, to Marvel (and) Star Wars," said Spencer Lynn, a producer for Walt Disney Imagineering. "All of it is celebrated here under one roof, which is really exciting."
Fans lined up day and night for the chance to experience panels, concerts, and a giant show floor.
They also got an exclusive look at upcoming projects from the Walt Disney Company.
Some of Hollywood's biggest stars dropped by to announce what's coming to the big screen, Disney's new streaming service, and even the parks.
While the fans got a chance to see some of their favorite Disney icons, it all means just as much to the legends themselves.
"It is a pleasure to meet the fans," said 2007 Disney Legend Floyd Norman. "Because after all, they're the ones we do this for,"
Fans say the D23 Expo not only makes for a weekend of exciting announcements, but also magical memories.
"You make a lot of friendships and connections," explains Disney fan Kayla Pacioni. "I always have a really great time when I'm here."
The next D23 Expo is scheduled for 2021.
