Erin Zeigler

Erin Zeigler is a producer of special projects at NewsChannel 5.

Upon graduating from Furman University in South Carolina, Erin began her television career as a freelance producer for reality shows in both Nashville and New York City, where she contributed in programs like NBCUniversal/A&E's 'Intervention: In Depth' and CMT's 'Gone Country.'

Transitioning into the realm of local news, Erin joined NewsChannel 5 in 2015 starting as an entry-level Associate Producer and working her way through the ranks to become the weekday 10 PM producer. She moved into the role of Executive Producer in 2018, overseeing a team of employees as well as handling breaking news as a line producer and coordinating coverage of special events.

Currently in the role of Special Projects Producer, Erin spearheads the creation of special coverage for high-profile events such as Nashville's New Years and July 4th celebrations, the Music City Grand Prix and red carpet events. She also writes and produces documentary-style newscasts in collaboration with NewsChannel 5's exceptional reporters and photojournalists.

Throughout her career, Erin's accolades include multiple wins and nominations including a National News Emmy. Wins include two regional Emmy Awards for producing coverage during the 2020 Nashville tornado outbreak, a first place Associated Press Award for TV Producing, and a prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for executive producing WTVF's 'Hooked: Tennessee's Opioid Crisis.'

In her free time, Erin enjoys traveling with her husband David (so far her favorite destination is Florence, Italy), running, enjoying live music and sports (she comes from a college football family), and watching as many movies as possible. Drop a recommendation at @erinczeigler.
